Joey B – Greetings from Abroad
Joey B – Greetings from Abroad
The hilarious 1990s flaskback Greetings from Abroad, which comes with the equally funny video shot on proper burger location in Germany. A burger – pronounced boga – is a Ghanaian returnee, the word comes from Hamburger, because Hamburg saw a big wave of immigration from Ghana in the 1980s. It’s the same word used in burger highlife, the 1990s, synth heavy evolution of Ghanaian highlife. Altra Nova laces Greetings from Abroad with references to 1990s R&B and new jack, the hard hitting snare, the latin inspired keys, creating a perfect backdrop for Joey B’s tale of long distance love. Aided by his regular partner in crime Pappy Kojo, proper Italian burger himself, these two can only leave you smiling.

Joey B – Stables
Joey B‘s back on the cow boy tip with Stables, featuring rising powerhouse La Même Gang. Joey first shared his love for horses and cowboy culture with his first Darryl EP, but today he pulls his boys in: “the stable is like a playground for me and my boys, my horsemen. The song is also a way to show love for La Même Gang, the next generation of Ghanaian artists. These guys are fresh, but they are also my family, we recorded at Villain Sounds where I record all my songs.”
The family affair is complete with Altra Nova on production, and La Même’s Darkovibes on the hook: “it’s a hip hop song, but the Ga chorus keeps it accessible to a broader audience, I want my songs to cut across.”
