He returns after a brief hiatus with No Racing, the first song from his upcoming EP, which drops in the next few weeks. In the song, Rebel explains that life no be race, “it’s not a 100 meter sprint, where people have to rush to succeed quickly, impress or show off. Instead, with patience, focus and determination everyone can make it on their own time.

Solid K – Calm and Cool

2020 was a year of ups and downs – and down downs! – but for Solid K it marked the release of his debut EP Music on the Road. Songs from the release were playlisted on some of Accra’s top radio stations, which fueled Solid K to continue to pour energy into his music. “Calm & Cool highlights my will to keep feeding my passion for music, my persevering personality, and my calm yet winning mindset.”

The song was produced by Solid K himself, and gives us a taste: “I’m starting the year still making arrangements for the exciting projects I have already completed, and plan to release throughout the year.”

“I’ve always been at peace and felt complete when singing and making music, that alone is a motivator. My songs are inspired by life and its journey, what I experience and what I observe people experience. I put a conscious effort to make sure my music empowers, gives hope, enlightens and most importantly gives positive energy.”

One Chance introduces Asi’s collaboration with lifestyle and fashion brand Sekbi Bogolan. “I connected so much with the essence of Sekbi Bogolan, this is what led to the collaboration in the first place. Their values, mission and vision being aligned with mine, it naturally resulted in a great partnership leading to an inspiring creative journey. The goal was to inspire and empower people from all over through various art forms. With our video, One Chance, the audience will experience a unique three dimensional artistic vision: music, fashion and dance.”

New Video: M3NSA – SDI feat. Amaarae

After a long break from his solo projects, M3NSA (FOKN Bois, RedRed) is back again! Setting it off with ‘SDI’ featuring Amaarae… This one is for cruising!

Driving through countryside Central Europe with co – producer Andras Weil in his classic 1950’s convertible, hanging out and riding Huffy bikes, whilst capturing the palettes of suburban Accra

The video shows a very colorful, confident and relaxed M3NSA. A play on how vibrant and comfortable he remains within all his creative output .

Amaarae does her fair share of swagging up the video with her Shaolin poses, ballet pirouettes and  wobbly bicycle riding, along with Akpene Hoggar, the now Miss Universe Ghana and her passenger. She DEFINITELY won because she featured in this video *wink wink*

“Still Dey Inside”, M3NSA assures us he refuses to get caught up in the pressures of expectations, just doing things properly at his own pace whilst maintaining some balance.

He also addresses the ‘hate-pocritical’ naysayers and worried observers. Amaarae complements the production with her New Wave-y Afro Soul flex. Sharp lyrics that certify her as both an emcee and singer/ songwriter.

This video is styled by Simpol Tinz,  shot by photographer/ filmmaker and poet Fotombo (Mutombo Da Poet) in North Kaneshie – Accra and by photographer and DJ Bandi in Hungary. Edited by Kubolor Cini and ‘crayoned’ by Tawan Bazemore.
