Boyzhood is the musical alter ego of serial entrepreneur and former rap whiz Aziz Doumbia.  Founder of the Dozo concept store, co-founder of Abidjan’s premier party La Sunday, and marketing don for Baazar, Aziz’ musical universe is based on art and introspection, and tells the reality of a 30 year old trying to build life. Love, money, personal development, concentration.

Aziz’ musical love affair started long ago. At 13 he co-founded Section Criminel, one of the only hip hop groups in Ivory Coast to sell CDs independently. As teen agers, before internet became prevalent in Abidjan, he and his two partners Terely and Kader made bank.

Today Aziz’ reality is very different. He built successful businesses, and returns with fifteen years of experience and reflection. His music represents Ivory Coast’s alternative movement. “It’s not drill, it’s not rap ivoire, it’s another side of Ivorian music.”
