Le transport est quelque chose qu’il est difficile maîtriser à Luanda, la capitale grouillante et surpeuplée de l’Angola. Les Candongueiros, minivans bleus et blancs qui traversent la ville, ne sont jamais présents en quantité suffisante. Imaginez : les pots d’échappements, les flics corrompus, les moteurs fatigués, le trafic à la si mauvaise réputation de Luanda, et surtout des baffles saturées qui jouent les dernières mixtapes de kuduro.

Le Kuduro est le son des rues angolaises, la musique que les enfants chantonnent et qui les fait danser. Le kuduro est une voie de sortie du ghetto et a envahi l’Angola par surprise, entre sa création dans le milieu des années 90 jusqu’à ce que le gouvernement l’accepte une décennie plus tard.

Pourtant le kuduro angolais est toujours très isolé du reste du monde, malgré un intérêt grandissant de l’occident pour le genre, ou du moins pour ses cousins portugais et français. Tandis que les labels majeurs se complaisent dans le récépissé vulgaire et insipide de kuduro, nous avons choisi d’amener le son de l’Angola à vos oreilles, non poli, brut, intact et bien sale.
